If you are Home Depot, Lowes, May, or go a short way to show how they would shake things up. Perhaps in a computer. This way you can get an idea of what it wants before you begin to see.

The dark tiles would surely be better to lower the floor, as well as black paint on the walls of the bathroom.

Small boxes are best for a small bathroom, because it is the illusion that the space is bigger than it actaully give.

Personally I would not go for two different kinds of tiles, but. You might need a very elegant to reach the walls and floor, with the same plate in a room "wet" type of look.

So I made my bathroom at home, and although small, is very elegant!

See the following links for a good example --

Good luck!
